Various classes of licenses

Changes/transfer/alteration in the license
If the FSSAI license has been issued, you will have to follow various processes to alter it. It needs a filing of an application to modify the FSSAI license or registration. For a small business, FSSAI registration works, but for a large-scale food business, an FSSAI license is compulsory. But what if the FSSAI holder dies?
The FSSAI license can be transferred to a legal representative or any family member of the person who died with the FSSAI license. The legal family member or agent should request for the transfer of the certificate to the concerned authority in his/her favour. The application might be denied or approved by the authority after due verification. Nonetheless, the FSSAI license authority cannot decline the application without providing the claimant an opportunity to be considered.
In case of a registered certificate or license holder’s demise, the FSSAI license would only survive if the legal agent or any family member applies to transfer that certificate. If the FSSAI certificate is not within three months after the expiry of the holder of license or registration certificate, then it expires.
NOTE – transfer of certificate or license will be applicable only in case of license holder’s demise.
The process to apply for transferring the license
To transfer a license, you should visit the official page and log in with your credentials as given below;
Step 1 – to apply for a particular license’s transfer, you should click on ‘duplicate/surrender/transfer of license(s).’ From the drop-down menu, click on ‘apply for duplicate/surrender/transfer of license(s)’ as given below.
Step 2 – to apply for transferring the license, you should click on ‘transfer’ against the license number that will be displayed on the screen.
Step 3 – fill in the required details and click to move on.
Step 4 – once you click on ‘proceed,’ the transfer application will be filed to DO’s account for further procedure.

How can you apply for the transfer of a certificate?

Step 2 – to apply for a transfer of license certificate, you should click on ‘transfer’ against the license number that will be displayed on the screen.

Step 4 – once you click on the proceed, the application for the certificate transfer will be filed to RA’s account for further procedure.
Once the whole application is filed without any issues or objections, the license or certificate will be transferred as per the request.
